Detailed information about the product Durostone

Hardener composed of quartz aggregates specially selected for their physical-chemical qualities, cement, additives and pigments.

DUROSTONE makes it possible to obtain wear resistance surfaces thanks to its specific granulometric distribution based on pigmented hydraulic binders and minerals.

DUROSTONE is available in Standard and HP versions. It can be supplied in the various colours available from Durocem. Other colours are available on request.

Fields of application
DUROSTONE is particularly suitable for surfaces subject to medium/heavy traffic: shopping centres, multipurpose centres, warehouses, show rooms, industries etc.

Methods of use
Spreader
Guarantees superior resistance to abrasion. DUROSTONE must be applied dry by hand with two or more even coats on green concrete (whilst it is setting) at a rate of 3-6 Kg/m2.

Mechanical laying
This guarantees optimum uniformity of the product with the same amount of product and good anchorage to the concrete base.

DUROSTONE must be applied dry with a mechanical device with two or more even coats on green concrete(whilst it is setting) with a uniform thickness of 2 to 3 mm. Recommended quantity 4-8 Kg/m2.

Thickness armouring
This makes it possible to undertake abrasive polishing to reveal the colour and the aggregates in the body so that the brightness of the aggregates can be refreshed and/or the colour be replaced as time goes by, just like in a grit flooring. It guarantees an excellent performance even in conditions of heavy traffic.

DUROSTONE must be mixed with clean water at a rate of 4/5 litres for each pack of product, in order to obtain a high performance mortar to be applied on the green concrete (whilst it is setting) and float finished. This solution is especially advisable for floors indistinctive colours.

For floors that will be subject to heavy wear and/or Vulcoland wheels, an amount of 12/24 Kg/m2 is recommended with a thickness of 5-10 mm. For less significant wear, a quantity of 8 /12 Kg/m2 is required.

Thickness armouring of DUROCEM products is suitable for “green on green” flooring whose mechanical specifications are minimum 25 RCK or as a filler for floors whose tensile strength is 150 Mpa, after preparation.
